Hi, I’m Michael Struwig.

I’m an E&E Engineer by training. I completed by PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Stellenbosch University in 2022 (graduated 2023).

I have previously worked as a:

• Tech lead at the ML consulting firm Praelexis
• Senior backend engineer at payments orchestrator Primer
• CEO of boutique quantitative finance research firm Hudson & Thames
• Head of AI at financial intelligence company OpenBB

I am currently working as a AI Engineer at a startup in stealth mode, focused on visual search.

I love writing clean software, and working at the intersection of data science, product development, and AI (particularly LLMs).

I also enjoy giving technical presentations and talks on various topics.
